The wage, education and background information - J. Laury, Class of 2018
I found that talking about my dream to be a dancer and the steps to get there were very help. Through additional research about a future career, I learned about opportunities to pursue a career in physical therapy – Y. Whitehead, Class of 2018
The purpose of my C&PD consultation was to learn more about what I wanted to do for a living, receive career advice, and explore my career options. What I found most helpful was being able to organize my thoughts, conduct research on my future career, and the online resources were helpful to achieve those goals. I have requested a follow up meeting to continue with career guidance to discuss my progress toward pursuing my career goal of working in early childhood education. – D. Dunn, Class of 2018
My C&PD consultation helped me discover that I wanted to pursue a career in psychology. During my meeting, I learned strategies that will help me in my career as a psychologist. Putting these strategies into practice allowed me to have a better understanding of what I wanted in my life and enabled me to help a friend . – R. Burgess, Class of 2018
The purpose of my C&PD consultation was to learn which college would be a good fit for me and to explore careers I am best suited for. During my consultation, I discovered a career and began exploring the steps necessary to prepare for my career. Through the homework I received, I began a plan to improve my SAT and ACT scores as well as search for funding for college. – M. Seawright, Class of 2018
The purpose of my C&PD consultation was to discuss my career options. What I found most helpful was that I was challenged to go out of my comfort zone, explore new things and really find out what I wanted to do with my life. I learned that I want to be a lobbyist. I secured a meeting with a lobbyist and was able to learn first-hand about that career. I will schedule a follow up C&PD consultation to begin college exploration and continue preparing for my career. – D. Brown, Class of 2018
I have had several C&PD consultations. Each consultation has been helpful in getting me prepared for my career as an orthodontist. I learned new skills that enabled me to speak with a dentist, create a job shadowing opportunity for myself, which may turn into an internship. I am working on college exploration, career exploration, armed forces exploration, and completing the rigorous application for the Air Force Academy. – A. Taylor, Class of 2018
